So it's now 3 days post "bad lettuce" and I'm still on empty. I ended up sleeping 13 hrs on Saturday night, and woke up Sunday feeling "better" but not 100%. I took the pups out on the trail to get some exercise and that was all I could muster up that morning. My tummy still didn't want to take any food in, but I managed some coffee, a gel, a small bowl of oatmeal and later on some dinner (meat, salad and bread). I though for sure I would totally be attacking the bag of chocolates I got at the store that day but only made it thru a couple nibbles.
Today I woke up, had some coffee and breakfast (croissant, yogurt, fruit and granola) and was ready to get outside! I took the new ride out for a couple hours and was suppose to end at the pool to meet Jamie for a swim. Well I was dead by the end of the 40 mile ride, and when I got into the pool I was literally sinking. Let's put it this way - Jamie was toasting my butt in BREASTROKE! The boy doesn't know how to swim a decent stroke of breastroke (yeh yeh yeh....go ahead and insert bad joke here cause I'm asking for it) if his life depended on it. I managed about 2k, and dragged myself out of the pool. Upon arrival back home I proceeded to puke all over my driveway. So as you can see, I'm still not fully recovered.
So I'm taking advantage of the hours inside (trying to recoop) and get some travel/race entries done. I signed my husband up (he'll tell you I forced him....which I sorta did....but he needs some goals out there to get his ass back in shape) for Lonestar Olympic, Boise 70.3 and Lubbock 70.3. It'll be loads of fun to go toether to them and race. This will be his first real "age group" racing season! If he doesn't have something lingering in front of him he'll just lalalala his way around training/staying in shape. This way I'm making him do it. And besides, he has to train in some capacity because he's doing the Leadville 100 Trail race again this year. AND I AM PACING HIM. Yeh...that'll be an interesting post race story to tell for sure!
Ok, off to drink some electrolyte drink and try to put back a little bit in me. I'm down 5 lbs now, but hey on the bright side I lost weight without even working out!!! :-)
Cheers,
Weak and Gimpy Fish
